This month’s meeting will look at mobile VoIP. In particular, we’ll examine Voice over IP over 802.11 wireless, commonly referred to as VoWiFi. Four technologies are required for mobile VoIP functionality: a device, client software, a wireless network, and a VoIP service. We’ll use our virtual company system and change some wired connections to wireless and see what challenges we encounter. Bring your laptop with VoIP softphone and WiFi card. We’ll also look at some example WiFi SIP phones. |
